Breastfeeding Support

Baby Café is a weekly drop-in group providing free breastfeeding support and resources for pregnant and postpartum individuals. Older children are welcome to attend!

• Support from Certified Lactation Consultants and International Board Certified Lactation Consultants.
• Opportunity to weigh baby before and after feeding.
• Infant feeding support – you don’t need to be exclusively breastfeeding to participate – we are here to support you in your breastfeeding/chestfeeding journey
• Opportunities to share experiences and make friends.
  You may attend at any point during the 2 hour session

Days/Times:

Mondays: 12 - 2 p.m.

Registration not required. Feel free to join whenever it works for you.

Baby Café will follow Bemidji area school closures.

The Bemidji Area Breastfeeding Coalition (BABC) is a multidisciplinary group of professionals dedicated to the promotion of breastfeeding/chestfeeding in the Bemidji area. The coalition meets monthly to share information and updates with one another as well as plan and promote events in the community.

What the BABC does:

• organizes and runs the Bemidji Baby Café drop-in group
• Maintains and schedules the event rock and rest tent
• collaborates with other groups and plans various community events

Bemidji Area Breastfeeding Coalition has a tent for providing a space to families to care for their baby’s needs at community events.

Bemidji Area Breastfeeding Coalition, with the help of Beltrami County Public Health, manages the scheduling, set up, take down, and maintenance of the tent. .

The Rock & Rest Tent includes:

• Two camp rocking chairs
• Changing Table/Garbage
• Fan for ventilation
• Breastfeeding Supplies
• Wipes for Sanitation
• Community Breastfeeding Resources

WIC recipient Moms and Dads can now schedule a breastfeeding appointment in addition to their regular WIC appointments to prepare and empower them to meet their breastfeeding goals.
