Notary Commission
The Minnesota Office of the Secretary of State issues commissions to Minnesota's notaries public. To find information on what it means to be a notary, how to obtain a commission, and download an application go directly to:

Once you receive your Notary Commission you must register it in person or by mail at the County in which you reside. To register your commission in Beltrami County you will need:
- Notary commission certificate
- $20 fee, payable to Beltrami County Auditor/Treasurer
- A driver’s license (if registering in person) OR
- Two signatures notarized by another notary on a blank sheet of white paper (if registering by mail). One signature will be of your full name as it is listed on your commission and on your notary stamp. The second signature will be in the style you will use when actually notarizing documents.
Make check payable to the Beltrami County Auditor/Treasurer. The License Center does not accept credit or debit cards for faxed or mailed in transactions. We do accept credit or debit cards at the counter. Orders are NOT accepted via the Internet.
After your commission is recorded, we will return the Notary commission certificate and a receipt to you.
