Richard Anderson

Richard has lived in Lammers Township most of his life—worked as a sixth grade teacher for one year in Minneapolis, spent 15 months with the 25th Infantry in Viet Nam, returning home to work for Bemidji School District as a teacher in Solway, Bemidji Middle School, and then as principal at Lincoln Elementary and finished his education career as principal of Bemidji High School, retiring in 2009.  He holds 3 degrees from Bemidji State University and a K-12 Administration License from UofM.  He was selected to BSU’s Professional Education Hall of Fame in 2016.  Richard was elected as District 3 County Commissioner in 2011.  He continues to farm 280 acres and works as a county commissioner.  He and his wife Vange have been married 47 years, had 5 children and now 8 grandchildren to love and appreciate.
