Press Release: Spring Road Restrictions

The STARTING DATE for Spring Load Restrictions for NORTH CENTRAL FROST ZONE in Beltrami County will go into effect on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 12:01 AM.

Currently no notice yet for the NORTH FROST ZONE Spring Load Restrictions.

All gravel surfaced roads will be restricted to 5 tons per axle.  All bituminous surfaced roads will be posted to 5, 7, 9 or 10 tons per axle.  A map of the roads within the two zones and a schedule of road postings are available on the County Website.

During the spring season the structure of the roadway is weakened and more vulnerable to damage.  Restrictions limit the legal gross axle weights of vehicles and reduce the amount of damage they do to the roadways.  No permits for overweight axle loads will be issued during this time.
