Emergency Management: Skywarn Training

Beltrami County Emergency Management and the National Weather Service will be hosting Severe Weather Spotter (Skywarn) training on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 6:30pm at the Emergency Operations Center in the Law Enforcement Center – 613 Minnesota Ave NW, Bemidji.

The free class is open to the public and lasts approximately two hours. There are no prerequisites, and no pre-registration is required.

Skywarn is a program that provides the public training to safely observe and report severe weather. Spotters provide critical information to the National Weather Service, enhancing public safety by providing ground truth and observations that radars can’t always see.

If you are unable to attend this session, there are other classes available in the region. Visit www.weather.gov/fgf/stormspotting for more information and for virtual course offerings.
