Beltrami County Joins Minnesota Milk Bank for Babies

Beltrami County is now a participant with Minnesota Milk Bank for Babies, a network of milk banks that connects donor milk with babies in need. The Beltrami County Public Health Milk Depot is located at 616 America Ave NW; Bemidji, MN 56601 Suite #130.

The mission of Minnesota Milk Bank for Babies it to improve infant health outcomes by ensuring that medically vulnerable babies – in Minnesota and the Upper Midwest – have access to safely pasteurized  life-giving human donor milk when mother’s milk is unavailable or low supply.

Beltrami County is the first Milk Depot in the Headwaters Region. Public Health Director Amy Bowles said, “This is significant service, especially based on our location. The next nearest Milk Depot is Wadena, then Fargo. We are happy to be the newest partner with the Minnesota Milk Bank for Babies.”
