Permits and Applications
Before you put in that new driveway approach or you move that playhouse for your neighbor, please review the information below to see if your planned activity requires a permit from the Public Works Department - Highway Division.
We have moved to an online system for most permits. Permits to Work in the Road Right of Way, to install a driveway approach, or to move oversize or overweight objects (including mobile homes) can be submitted via the Beltrami County Permitting Site.

Mailbox Supports
Swing-away design mailbox supports benefit snowplow operations by providing additional clearance for the snowplow with less chance of damage to the support or mailbox. The Beltrami County Public Works Department - Highway Division will install, free of charge, a swing away mailbox support for those who receive their mail along a County Road. If your mailbox is located on a State, township, or private road, there is a cost of $200 for this service. If you are interested in a swing-away support, complete the Mail Box Support Order.
For more information, please review our Mailbox Policy And Guidelines.
